In 1989, Raycar Opened its Doors to Rockford, Illinois as a Machining Job Shop

Since many of our first employees had extensive experience in manufacturing gears, we began adding gear equipment, incorporating gear manufacturing into our operation. In the late 1990’s, our efforts were focused on upgrading to newer and more modern CNC equipment making the manufacturing processes more efficient and competitive. We started by adding CNC Daewoo lathes and CNC Haas mills to expand our machining capacity.

In 2002, our focus was on updating our gear manufacturing capacity. We replaced an old Reishauer Gear Grinder with a new modern CNC Hofler Helix 400 Gear Grinder. As the Gear Industry evolved requiring even higher quality and more precise gears, we soon purchased our second CNC Hofler Helix 700 Gear Grinder. In 2008, we added a third CNC Hofler Helix 400KK Gear Grinder and a new CNC Mitsubishi Hobbing Machine for even greater capacity. In 2012, Raycar upgraded equipment by adding another CNC lathe, a Mitsubishi CNC gear shaper, and another CNC Mitsubishi hobbing machine.

Over the years, Raycar built a solid reputation by offering quick, friendly service to each and every customer. We understand that precision manufacturing is vital to maintain a cutting edge in the business world. It is our intention to see that each and every part we manufacture is produced to the required specifications and delivered on time.

Today, Raycar remains a complete ISO 9001:2015 certified gear and machining manufacturing company. In 2013, we moved our operations and now occupy over 30,000 square feet, complete with CNC lathes, CNC mills, CNC OD and ID grinders. What distances us from other job shops is our ability to manufacture high quality, precision gears easily achieving and often exceeding AGMA class 12.
